AeroMIDI for the Leap Motion – play musical cubes in midair

This looks fun!

Both the Leap Motion (which we’ve talked about before) and AeroMIDI are expected to be released in late July of this year, and although the functionality is a bit different, the combination of the two looks like an awesome alternative to using the Kinect to control dubstep wobbles, even if you are very good at it.

Starr Labs releases the Clipper fingerboard controller

Long-time MIDI guitar creators Starr Labs have been making amazing tools since 1993, but have only in recent years been starting to get more attention, thanks to artists such as Lou Reed and The Chemical Brothers picking up their instruments and being heavily featured in Australian DnB band Pendulum’s shows. Their most recent creation, the Clipper, adds flash to functionality with RGB LEDs for all keys on the fingerboard.

New Ableton Live 9 beta video demonstrates Audio to MIDI

Ableton Certified Trainer Julien Bayle (based in Marseille, France), has had access to the Ableton Live 9 beta version for quite some time now, and he’s had the awesome inspiration of showcasing it via his YouTube channel. This video is meant to be the first in a series dedicated to Live 9 beta demos, and it demonstrates the new Audio to MIDI functions, while also providing glimpses of the new browser and Glue compressor.
